Job Brief: The Liquor District Manager oversees all liquor stores and provides support to liquor store Managers. The District Manager is accountable and responsible for enforcing all operational liquor store practices, ensuring each liquor store runs smoothly and meets operational sales and labor goals. The District Manager is responsible for compliance with special laws and regulations regarding the sale of liquor and the liquor store employees.
Job Duties
- Demonstrate outstanding leadership skills by providing guidance and support to liquor stores.
- Assist in developing action plans for promotional events that will maximize sales to ensure merchandising goals are achieved.
- Evaluate competitive market information identifying trends that affect liquor store sales.
- Monitor inventory for all liquor stores.
- Assist HR in interviewing liquor store manager and employee candidates, make recommendations for hiring top talent.
- Assist liquor store managers to ensure that liquor store procedures are being followed consistently, review checklists, coach, and enforce adherence to established processes.
- Observe liquor stores for evidence of shrink, including damaged goods and inventory control. Train and coach liquor store managers with procedures to reduce shrinkage and ensure compliance with all laws and regulations.
- Support and model safety in the store, set and communicate expectations regarding working safely, continuously observe liquor store personnel practices to ensure safety.
- Participate in evaluating performance of liquor store managers, recommend personnel actions such as retention, promotion, performance issues, or dismissal of employees. Communicate performance levels and monitor the performance of each manager to ensure that expectations are being met. Discuss topics that will enhance their performance and enforce compliance with company policies.
- Work to develop and maintain a friendly atmosphere and good morale in the liquor stores by giving feedback and recognition to employees on a regular basis, and by addressing employees' questions and concerns.
- Ensure department conditions meet company standards.
- Based on unique circumstances of store, may be required to execute store opening and/or store closing procedures according to company policy.
- Responsible to submit documentation to HR on employee Terminations, New Hire Training, Vacations, counseling's, Uniform Deductions, and employee status changes and reviews
- Manage store scheduling, Labor and timecards and ovt.
- Review store reporting daily.
- Maintain Valid Texas Driver's License
- Maintain Valid TABC Certification
Secondary Job Duties:
- Maintain confidentiality of all data encountered in work environment
- Present favorable impression in dress, personal hygiene, and business attitude.
- Ability to multitask and help with other duties, special projects and task as assigned by management
Qualifications:
- 5 years supervisory/management experience in merchandise receiving, handling, and stocking in other retail or warehouse/distribution environments.
- Strong enforcement of operational and management practices.
- Proficient analytical skills.
- Strong communication skills, able to interact with managers, employees, and customers.
- Excellent reading and writing communication skills required.
- Proficient in MS Office skills or similar package.
- A minimum of a high school diploma.
- Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
Physical Demands:
Sitting, pushing, and pulling up to 150 Ibs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and smelling.
Carrying up to 50 Ibs, climbing up to 6-foot height, walking on tile/concrete, bending, and reaching waist/overhead level.
Other:
- Varied, irregular schedules.
- Travel from location to location within city.
