This is not a remote or hybrid position. It is in office only. If you are not serious, please do not apply. NextGen OMS is a growing medical office seeking an experienced medical and dental billing specialist to join our team.

This position will include all aspects of billing and collections such as handle denials, file appeals, processing, and mailing patient statements, pursuing collections and managing A/R.

This position will also be responsible for answering phones and taking patient questions regarding billing, and any other reasonable task associated with billing for services and collecting revenue from those services.

The responsibilities of the billing specialist will have the ability to work independently; has the ability to work collaboratively on projects; the ability to create channels of communication to obtain information to perform job tasks, such as with clients, payers front office staff and team members; the ability to identify trends with payers and communicate such with the office manager to initiate a resolution and process to prevent such trends in the future.

Medical billing is required, and Dental billing is a plus.

REQUIREMENT:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience with billing, and denials/appeals.

Job Qualifications:

  • Honest, cheerful, friendly, responsible, and optimistic team player that can deliver excellent customer services.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the providers, staffs, and patients.
  • Ability to handle frequent interruptions that result in having to re-evaluate priorities.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Extensive working knowledge of medical terminology, CPT and ICD-10 coding, and billing procedures required.
