Healthcare Customer Support Specialist

Contract Type: Temporary

Compensation: $20.00 Per Hour

Job Responsibilities:

• Conducts interviews with patients to gather essential demographic and insurance details necessary for medical record identification and billing processes.

• Enters patient registration data into the computer system and ensures the accuracy of the information provided.

• Supplies precise patient, medical, financial, or procedural information to patients as needed.

• Engages in discussions regarding financial arrangements and concerns with patients and/or their family members.

• Enhances patient flow and information dissemination by directing patients to appropriate locations, coordinating patient transport, managing incoming calls, and offering clerical assistance.

• Prepares necessary forms and maintains an inventory of supplies as required.

Essential Skills:

• Experience in customer service, with a preference for clinical background and strong communication abilities.

• Familiarity with patient registration protocols and documentation processes.

• Understanding of medical insurance claims procedures and relevant documentation.

• Proficiency in using personal computers and associated software applications.

• Competence in preparing and maintaining patient records.

• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.

• Ability to collect patient demographic information and confirm insurance eligibility.

• Enrollment in the PSS training program and successful completion of the competency exam is required to maintain the PSS position.
