Position Summary:

Leads marketing efforts on proposals, presentations, qualification statements, resumes, project descriptions, internal and external communications, and related marketing materials, under general supervision and in compliance with GES’ branding guidance. Working with the opportunity lead, helps plan and organize the proposal effort. Identifies and weaves win themes throughout proposals. Formats proposal documents, marketing collateral, presentations, and other materials production as needed. Assists senior staff with development of large and/or complex submittals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Respond promptly to requests for proposal and marketing materials and information.
  • Understand and follow the best practices outlined in the marketing manual which was developed as a series of “lessons learned” to help us work together as a cohesive team and avoid common obstacles.
  • Conduct research to contribute to the management for client business development plans, capture planning, and for making BID/NOBID decisions.
  • Research, write, edit, format and proofread copy for large and small proposals, presentations, statements of qualifications, announcement, and related marketing materials; supports more senior writers in their projects.
  • Research, write, and update project descriptions, resumes, proposal sections/topics and other qualifications materials.
  • Prepares proposal directives with compliance matrices for proposals.
  • Schedules and conducts proposal reviews (red team).
  • Develops, populates, and/or reviews project and personnel selection matrices for large proposals.
  • Writes marketing collateral and non-technical proposal sections.
  • Plan and execute final document production to meet client deadlines, including final reviews of proposals and other client deliverables as needed.
  • Contributes new information in support of our marketing databases for use in future marketing or proposal tasks (updates to resumes and project descriptions, etc.).
  • Takes leadership role of non-standard work assignments at GES (i.e. Sustainability Report Card, quality modules, etc.).
  • While continuing to develop your own writing, desktop publishing, marketing, and production skills, mentor junior staff to help progress their skills.
  • Assist with developing GES webinars and lunch and learn modules for GES University.
  • Participate in bi-weekly Marketing meetings and annual Marketing face-to-face meeting.

Minimum Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Business or English. or related field

Experience: Total of 10+ years marketing and/or proposal experience

Proficiencies: Excellent command of English language, written and verbal

Proficient with Microsoft Office Products (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, etc.); Adobe Creative Suites(i.e., InDesign, Photoshop, etc.) software
