Job Overview

The primary role of the applicant is to support the preparation of estimates for new projects and assess pricing for modifications on current contracts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the Senior Estimator to assist with daily operations.
  • Analyze plans and specifications to prepare and estimate project budgets.
  • Generate material and cost estimates for all projects.
  • Communicate pricing, materials, and scheduling with both internal and external project teams.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with vendors and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing.
  • Oversee bids from vendors and contractors.
  • Handle proposal writing tasks, ensuring that estimates are coherent, well-structured, and comprehensive.
  • Follow up on submitted proposals.
  • Request pricing from vendors and subcontractors for materials, equipment, and services.
  • Draft written correspondence and technical reports as necessary.
  • Execute and document various contract administrative tasks.
  • Manage contracts, RFIs, submittals, change orders, AIA documents, proposals, and insurance.
  • Order and manage materials effectively.
  • Track accounts payable and receivable.
  • Assist in manpower scheduling.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in reading drawings and performing take-offs.
  • Familiarity with the following software:
    • Bluebeam
    • Procore
    • Building Connected
    • Sage
    • MS Excel
    • Salesforce
    • Dropbox
  • A minimum of three years of estimating experience within the construction sector.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work efficiently and swiftly.
