Position Overview: The After-School STEM Coordinator will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing STEM-focused activities and programs for students in an after-school setting. The Coordinator will work closely with volunteers, and community partners to deliver engaging, hands-on STEM experiences that encourage critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Management: Develop lesson plans, select appropriate materials, and ensure the curriculum meets the learning objectives of the program.
  • Student Engagement: Facilitate STEM activities, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel encouraged to participate.
  • Staff Supervision: Recruit, train, and oversee volunteers. 
  • Partnerships and Outreach: Build and maintain relationships with schools, community organizations, and industry partners to enhance program offerings and resources.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: Track student progress, collect feedback, and assess program effectiveness to inform future program improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, STEM, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Previous experience in educational program coordination, particularly in STEM fields.
  • Strong knowledge of STEM subjects and the ability to make them accessible to young learners.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and community partners.
  • Experience with curriculum development and instructional design is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with hands-on learning methods and project-based learning.
  • Familiarity with current STEM education trends and technologies.
  • Strong leadership abilities and experience managing a team.
