Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm (Could vary depending on business needs)

Job Summary:

The HR Manager plays a crucial role in shaping and implementing HR policies, programs, and practices to ensure a positive and inclusive work environment. This role involves working closely with leadership and advisory partners to support the company's goals, enhance employee engagement, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. This position will require a high level of problem-solving with the ability to understand the big picture.

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate with executive leadership and advisory partners to address organizational challenges and contribute to overall business strategy.
  • Partner with business stakeholders and advisory partners to design, develop, and evaluate HR procedures, programs, and resources.
  • Stay abreast of multi-state employment laws and regulations, ensuring company-wide compliance.
  • Update and implement HR policies and procedures in collaboration with the HR Liaison/Generalist.
  • Maintain a collaborative relationship with supervisors and managers to ensure they are supported.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to managers on performance-related matters.
  • Provide instructional leadership to HRLiaison/Generalist - providing guidance, support, and mentorship.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee relations matters, conducting investigations and facilitating resolutions.
  • Handle or redirect HR-related inquiries or distribute correspondence to the appropriate person on the team.
  • Oversee payroll & benefit administration.
  • Oversee the recruitment & onboarding process, including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, and onboarding. As well as collaborating with external recruiting firms, as necessary.
  • Perform data analysis and create PowerPoint presentations, as needed for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist in ad-hoc HR projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

• Requires a BS/BA in Business Administration or a similar field and five (5) years of qualifying Human Resources manager experience or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have 1-2 years experience in directly supervising HR staff.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must perform each essential function satisfactorily.

  • Working knowledge of HR regulations, employment laws, wage/hours, and best practices. Especially in California.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Experience using HRIS / payroll software and web-based tools.

  • Detailed-oriented and organized.
  • Confidentiality and integrity focused.
  • Ability to analyze processes and data.
  • Has a strong desire to succeed in the face of adversity and demonstrates the willingness to push through challenges associated with changes.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Additional HR Manager education/certificate.

COMPUTER SKILLS: Hands-on experience with accounting and financial management software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage) is essential. Demonstrate the ability to use a computer and applicable computer software effectively. Must have advanced skills using Excel & Word, Adobe, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Demonstrate the ability to explain financial terms in simple language; demonstrate the ability to read, comprehend, and respond appropriately through written or verbal form; demonstrate tactfulness when communicating, including internal communication with staff members of all levels; ability to communicate with a variety of audiences effectively.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Demonstrate the ability to utilize theoretical mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Demonstrate the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING: Demonstrate the ability to effectively apply common sense and follow through to daily tasks; demonstrate the ability to work with little or no supervision; demonstrate excellent analytical skills; demonstrate the ability to efficiently conduct research and ask appropriate probing questions to complete necessary tasks.

REGULAR WORK SCHEDULE - The schedule varies depending on business needs; however, the company's normal business hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday.

This position is located in the Sacramento office and may include a hybrid schedule based on business needs.
