Job Summary

University Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a seasoned Director of Human Resources to lead the Human Resources department. As a key member of the UEI team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies that align with the organization's goals and objectives.

About the Role
  • Lead the Human Resources department and oversee the recruitment, hiring, and training of employees.
  • Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and practices that ensure compliance with labor laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
  • Provide guidance and support to management, staff, and customers on employee-related matters.
  • Oversee benefits and compensation, manage the employee performance review process, and stay current with changing laws, regulations, and industry trends.
Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and manage the Human Resources staff and functions, including employment, compensation, benefits, employee relations, training, and personnel records.
  • Ensure compliance with Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Affirmative Action (AA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and other employment laws.
  • Develop and implement employee benefits programs, including health, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, disability, and retirement plans.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of the classification plan, including job audits, job description development, and reclassifications.
  • Direct the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources office, including instruction and training of Human Resources staff, monitoring of expenditures, and scheduling.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field or equivalent combination of education and/or work experience.
  • Demonstrated extensive work experience in Human Resources administration and system development, including experience with recruitment and selection, classification and compensation, benefit administration, and EEO/AA reporting.
  • Demonstrated extensive knowledge of and skill in the administration of Human Resources policies, procedures, and practices, with an emphasis on labor laws, recruitment, employment, compensation, benefits, and employee relations.
  • Excellent leadership skills, including decision-making, problem-solving, collaboration, and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of budget development and maintenance.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including command of the English language, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Business Administration or related field.
  • Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) or Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification or other advanced Human Resources certification or education.
Working Conditions
  • Work is performed in an office environment.
  • Continuous contact with staff, campus community, and the public.
Physical Requirements
  • Sit for extended periods.
  • Frequently stand and walk.
  • Manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
