Job DescriptionJob Description

To be a successful Business Development (technical/industrial/manufacturing sales) you must be able to establish an excellent rapport with existing customers and develop new customer opportunities. A top-notch technical equipment sales representative should be knowledgeable about competitors and should have the ability to learn and understand technical requirements of the customer and how to help the customer meet their needs and offer the best solutions.

In this position, you would be a key part of our sales/support team to engage customer contacts for our business. This role is an integral part of our customer-focused business model as customers are the foundation of our business.

With revenue generation and market dominance as the primary sales goal, direct interaction with customers, influencing and assisting them by using technical and industry knowledge to provide products that meet their needs. Follows up on sales leads and make cold calls on potential customers. Receives customer calls and provide product specifications, technical information, pricing, and delivery to achieve sales and revenue goals. Establishes and maintains industry contacts that lead to sales opportunity and revenue generation. Researches and develops potential customers. Provides problem resolution and troubleshooting expertise to customers. Taking responsibility for and makes every effort to meet customer's needs and resolve their product problems. Returns messages, e-mails, and voice mails in a timely manner. Maintains up-to-date understanding of industry trends and technical developments that effect target market. Promotes new, innovative products to existing customers. Works closely and effectively with Engineering/ R&D, Operations and Sales staff to identify future customer needs.

Knowledge in any/or all of the following industries is highly desirable - plastics, petrochemical, food processing, semiconductors, automotive, metal fabrication, textiles, power transmission, energy management, packaging, and research and development. Solid sales skills ARE required.

Skills: Ability to fully utilize MS Office programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Must be able to analyze and solve problems in a logical manner with a high degree of problem summarization for reporting purposes.

Analytical or Reasoning Abilities: Ability to read and interpret documents such as industry reports. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers/clients and/or vendors. Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several limited variables in standardized situations.
