 Job Summary


 Administrative Assistants at Martin Appliance, Water Conditioning and Furniture & Mattress are knowledgeable in customer service and office procedures. They are key team members in the office, carrying out the goals of their department as given to them by the Office Administrator or Branch Manager.  They will interact with customers both on the phone and in person and many times are the first contact a customer may have with our company.


Administrative Assistants are the face of Martin’s and are expected to conduct business in a professional way that honors our legacy and mission.


 Essential Duties and Responsibilities


 Are you the type of person that ignores a piece of trash on the floor…or would you pick it up?


 The successful Administrative Team Member will possess a great attitude and a servant’s heart.  We believe that many of the daily tasks that you will perform can be taught, and your professional demeanor and attitude will play a tremendous part in the fit that you will be on the team.  We are looking for a Team Member who can work within the team but also take initiative independent of direct supervision.


Being a successful Administrative Assistant requires empathy and tact, especially when faced with a challenging situation.  Good communication skills are essential when dealing with customers as well as other Team Members who might be in different locations.  You will create and contribute to positive working relationships through your interaction with everyone you meet at your job.


This position will require working a variety of hours that may include early mornings, weeknights and Saturdays and at certain times, extra hours beyond the normal schedule.  We will not require you to work any overnight or Sunday shifts.


Your daily duties may include Invoicing, Maintaining Customer Records, Assisting Customers both on the phone and at the counter, and other duties commonly found in an office environment.


Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.


Competencies


You can read and write English and perform basic math functions that would commonly be found in a retail office environment.  Your interpersonal skills are great; you can read, write and otherwise communicate effectively with Managers, Team Members and customers. 


The successful candidate can use a computer, tablet or smartphone to send emails, order online products and are comfortable using these pieces of technology.  You can also operate copiers, scanners and other forms of technology commonly found in an office.


You are enthusiastic, friendly and energetic and possess a genuine desire to provide outstanding service and have done this in previous positions in which you have served.


You are comfortable in a professional environment.  You are organized and can multi-task, handling the needs of customers as well as being flexible to the needs of the company.

Physical Demands


This position involves constant moving, talking, listening, hearing, reaching, grabbing and standing for at least two consecutive hours.  You may occasionally need to stoop, kneel, crouch, travel up and down stairs and be able to lift up to 40 pounds.  You will sit at a desk with a computer for much of your day.
