Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Field Service Technician to support fleet vehicles with all IT and electronic/mechanical (E/M) systems. This role is based out of the Lowell Depot and covers sites in the North Shore and Southern New Hampshire areas. Travel to various sites is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Instruction Manual Maintenance: Keep current manuals for vehicle up-fitters to properly install components.
  • Training: Attend training on new devices and project rollouts.
  • Lifecycle Management: Oversee services related to mounting requirements for field support installations.
  • Consultation: Work with third-party suppliers and customers to update vehicle dock kit specifications.
  • Ergonomic & Safety Compliance: Obtain necessary approvals before introducing changes to vehicle kit components.
  • Custom Builds: Manage builds tailored to field-based laptop functions.
  • Repair & Reimage: Provide repair and reimaging services for field devices.
  • Logistics Management: Coordinate with logistic providers to move devices across service territories.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain a working inventory for break/fix swap outs.
  • Vehicle Mounting Services: Provide installation work and incremental expansions of vehicles with respect to field-based equipment.
  • Video Capturing Systems: Manage lifecycle services for video capturing requirements.
  • Code Blue Devices: Oversee lifecycle management for code blue device installations.
  • AVLS Systems: Handle configurations and testing for Automated Vehicle Location Systems (modems).
  • On-Site Services: Deliver on-site support at multiple locations within the service territory.
  • Process Improvement: Recommend improvements for the repair process to enhance efficiency and reduce impact on field-based services.
  • Communication: Update tickets with asset management data and communicate status/resolutions to end-users.

  • Inventory Tracking: Maintain and track hardware and software inventory.
  • Collaboration: Work with vendor support contacts and other IT team members to resolve technical issues.
  • IT Operations Knowledge: Sound understanding of IT operations, related applications, and systems.

Physical Requirements

  • Mobility: Able to move between buildings and workstations.
  • Lifting: Capable of lifting up to 40 lbs without assistance.
  • Weather Conditions: Ability to work in various weather conditions (hot/cold).
