Job Summary: As a loan specialist, you will play a crucial role in assisting members with their borrowing needs, including handling mortgage, personal, auto, and business loans. You will guide members through the loan application process, manage approvals, and address inquiries. In addition to lending responsibilities, you will provide general account servicing to support our members with account-related tasks, ensuring a comprehensive and satisfying member experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lending Services:
    • Assist members with various loan products, including mortgages, personal loans, auto loans, and credit cards.
    • Guide members through the loan application process, ensuring all required documentation is collected and completed accurately.
    • Evaluate loan applications and determine eligibility based on institutional guidelines and credit criteria.
    • Manage loan approvals and coordinate with underwriting and other departments as needed.
    • Address member inquiries regarding loan terms, repayment schedules, and account status.
    • Review credit and budgeting to help coach members to reach their financial goals for home ownership or other needs
  • General Account Servicing:
    • Assist members with opening new accounts, updating existing account information, and resolving basic account issues.
    • Provide support for account maintenance tasks, such as updating personal details, handling account closures, and managing account discrepancies.
    • Ensure member accounts are managed in accordance with institutional policies and procedures.
  • Member Relationship Management:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with members by providing excellent service and personalized financial advice.
    • Identify opportunities for additional financial products and services that may benefit the member.
    • Address and resolve any member concerns or issues promptly and effectively.
  • Compliance and Documentation:
    • Ensure all loan documentation and account records are accurately maintained and comply with regulatory requirements.
    • Stay informed about industry trends, lending regulations, and institutional policies to provide accurate and up-to-date information to members.
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Work closely with other team members and departments to ensure a cohesive approach to member service and loan processing.
    • Participate in training and development programs to enhance knowledge and skills related to lending and account management.

Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required.
    • Proven experience in lending, banking, or financial services is desirable.
    • NMLS ID Required
  • Skills and Abilities:
    • Strong understanding of lending products and processes, including mortgages, personal loans, auto loans, and credit cards.
    • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build rapport and provide personalized support.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to analyze financial information and assess creditworthiness.
    • Proficiency in using financial software and systems.
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
