Atlanta Design Group, Inc. (ADG) headquartered in Norcross, GA has an immediate opening for an Operations Coordinator working in our Operations Department reporting to the Director of Operations. ADG is a full-service interior design support company comprised of specialized brands catering specifically to Interior Designers, Architects and the Design-Build community. The Operations Department is vital function of the company as it processes and administers all company purchasing operations working closely with Department Heads, Manufacturing, Receiving and Accounting.

Operations Coordinator prepares and distributes purchase orders on behalf of the company. The Operations Coordinator reviews prices and product specifications from various suppliers. Other duties include creating and maintaining purchasing files and price lists, as well as, processing supplier payments when needed.

Additionally, the Operations Coordinator track deliveries and make sure we receive exactly what was ordered from suppliers. They physically check shipments to ensure the appropriate items were delivered. Operations Coordinator will answer supplier and customer inquiries about order changes or cancellations and check requisition orders for accuracy.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepares Purchase Orders and distributes purchase orders for various departments
  • Maintain strong relationship with suppliers
  • Responsible for the ordering of materials, supplies, and/or equipment, and the follow through with vendors on shipment and delivery
  • Take purchase requests from various departments within the company and get price quotes from suppliers. Additionally, responsibilities include contacting suppliers to schedule deliveries or to discuss shortages or missed deliveries.
  • Contact suppliers to confirm purchase order details
  • Enforce all purchasing policies and procedures
  • Attend weekly Operational meetings as instructed
  • Log all order receipts and confirmations (Acknowledgements)
  • Address errors with departments managers in a timely manner.
  • Track and monitor purchases from initial order to receipt.
  • Reports and monitors all non-conforming products to a satisfactory conclusion
  • Answer and resolve all inquiries from potential suppliers.
  • Cross-reference product deliveries with purchase orders
  • Schedule and coordinate suppliers in an effort to meet scheduled installations.
  • Manage all communication for purchase orders with suppliers and analyze all communication for same and resolve all purchase issues and coordinate with Accounting to process all invoices.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • High school Diploma/GED required. Associates Degree or higher a plus
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Purchasing and or Operations is a must
  • Proven track record of strong negotiation skills preferred.
  • Strong communication skills a must
  • Solid communication and administrative skills
  • Proficient with QuickBooks and Excel a Plus
