Position Summary

This position is responsible for ensuring adherence to policies and procedures with suppliers. Supply Chain Specialist is also accountable for coordinating global shipments to our facility and improving the supply chain processes. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to managing order prices and quantities, receiving shipments and organizing inventories, forecasting demand, adapting to changes in demand, and resolving supply chain issues.

Furthermore, this role must collaborate with stakeholders across various departments to ensure seamless sourcing and supplier performance. Must be able to adapt to both market demands and technological advancements in order to drive the business forward.

Summary of Role and Responsibilities

  • Develop monthly reports showing customer support performance and improvement opportunities
  • Convert Demand Plan to Supply Plan in weekly periods on a rolling basis
  • Maintain Supply Plan in planning software (e.g. C Place, 09, etc.)
  • Validate Purchase Orders generated by Demand and supply management team that aligns with Supply Plan
  • Purchase Order Audit
    • Conduct monthly Purchase Order reconciliation (5 point reconciliation) to ensure alignment between Supply Plan, C Place/09, Production Plan, Open Purchase Orders and Vendor’s Production Schedule
    • Communicate Audit discrepancies to appropriate team – Finance, 3PA, DSM, and all affected departments.
  • Production Management
    • Convert production purchase requisitions to purchase orders and release to vendor
    • Enter demand plan in SAP to initiate production schedule
  • Logistics – Inbound Deliveries
  • Purchasing-Logistics-Accounting Alignment – facilitate weekly Jour Fixe to ensure alignment between purchasing, receiving and accounts payable
  • Communicate short-range and long-range product availability via CFA to sales, marketing, operations and finance.
  • Report Key Performance Indicators and vital metrics such as on-time delivery, vendor performance, inventory, etc. to management team to communicate health of the supply chain and to predict and mitigate potential risks.
  • Ad hoc project management

Education, Experience, and Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

Minimum Education Requirements:

BA/BS or equivalent from a four-year college or university; degrees related to supply chain or business management preferred

Work Experience:

Minimum of 3 years of experience in supply planning, purchasing

Minimum of 3 years of experience in supply chain operations

Minimum of 3 years of experience with bicycle technologies is preferred

Professional certifications such as APICS (e.g., CPIM, CSCP) or CSCMP are advantageous

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication skills written, oral and visual
  • Ability to understand, assess, and problem solve by leveraging technical and analytical skills
  • Ability to collaborate with all groups and to work quickly towards a common goal
  • Positive attitude; solutions driven; accountable; able to manage own priorities
  • Self-starter with excellent follow through; able to thrive in a fast-paced environment; proven multi-tasker
  • Adept in navigating complex ERP systems
  • Strong MS Office 365 for Business skills a must; emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint
  • APICS or other supply chain certifications a plus
  • Experience in SAP is a plus
  • Effective leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Understanding of Lean manufacturing, 6S, Root Cause Analysis’s, Corrective Action Plan’s, Negotiation
  • High attention to details
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Availability outside of regular hours, including weekends and holidays
  • Time management
  • Vision and desire to learn
  • Knowledge of international trade regulations, shipping procedures, and customs clearance is a plus
