Overview:

As a Supply Chain Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and effective flow of medical devices throughout the supply chain process. This position requires a combination of strategic thinking, operational excellence, and collaboration with various stakeholders to meet the demands of customers. The Supply Chain Manager will oversee procurement, logistics, inventory management, and supplier relationships to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality medical devices.

Duties:

Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and implement strategic supply chain plans aligned with organizational goals and industry regulations.
  • Conduct demand forecasting exercises to proactively manage inventory levels and align with market needs.
  • Develop and track key performance indicators for Supply Chain Department

Procurement:

  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers for medical devices, negotiating contracts and terms to secure cost-effective and high-quality materials.
  • Cultivate robust relationships with suppliers to ensure compliance, quality, and on-time deliveries.
  • Define and lead plan to ensure Supplier Agreements
  • Establish resiliency program to add 2nd source vendors

Logistics Management:

  • Oversee the transportation, distribution, and delivery processes to optimize efficiency and reduce lead times.
  • Implement and maintain effective logistics strategies to minimize costs and enhance overall supply chain performance.

Inventory Management:

  • Develop and maintain inventory control procedures to manage stock levels and prevent shortages or overages.
  • Utilize inventory management systems to track and analyze product movements, ensuring accurate stock levels.
  • Create cycle count program to ensure inventory accuracy
  • Lead inventory cycle counts along with Finance partner

Quality Assurance:

  • Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure that medical devices meet regulatory requirements and quality standards.
  • Implement and monitor processes to identify and address quality issues in the supply chain.
  • Manage RMA and SCAR with vendors

Supplier Relationship Management:

  • Foster strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure a reliable supply of medical devices.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations of suppliers and implement improvement plans as needed.

Risk Management:

  • Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop contingency plans to mitigate disruptions.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and market conditions that may impact the supply chain

Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with other departments, including manufacturing, sales, and finance, to ensure alignment and coordination across the organization.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to address issues and facilitate smooth operations.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain management, Logistics, Business, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.

Required Experience:

  • 8 to 10 plus years’ experience in progressively more responsible Supply Chain Management roles.
  • Experience in Medical Device manufacturing and regulatory requirements.
  • Successful experience ramping production output, duplicating lines, and transferring products.
  • Experience tracking inventory performance and developing long term improvement plans to key metrics (Event Charts)
  • Experience with regulated quality systems like ISO-9001, ISO-13485 and FDA regulations or industry equivalent.
  • Experience in project management, product lifecycle management (PLM), and new product introduction (NPI) practices.
  • Proven track record of meeting product delivery deadlines on budget through implementing repeatable processes for forecasting and project/program management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proven experience in supply chain management, preferably in the medical devices or healthcare industry.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements related to medical devices.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in using supply chain management software and tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
