JOB SUMMARY

The Office of Marriage and Family Program Coordinator is responsible for coordinating marriage preparation courses, assisting with other programming, and performing office related duties.

Major Job Responsibilities:

  • Assists in planning and implementing OMF vision

Description of Job Duties:

Coordinates Marriage Preparation courses

  • Recruit, train and schedule speakers for Engaged Couples Retreats and 2nd Marriage Course.
  • Present at the Engaged Couples Retreat or 2nd Marriage Course when a shortage of speakers occurs or as a last-minute replacement.
  • Collaborate with the Multicultural Ministries Office when coordinating the Spanish Marriage Course.
  • Coordinate preparation of facilities and materials needed for the day.
  • Responsible for set-up and take-down for each marriage prep course.
  • Submit and maintain reports of income, stipends, and expenses.
  • Correspond with speakers as needed.
  • Collaborate with Associate Director of Natural Family Planning and NFP witness couples as needed.
  • Follow up on requests for materials or assistance as needed.
  • Attend occasional workshops/conferences/meetings.
  • Research new materials and media to stay relevant and remain compliant with USCCB marriage prep requirements.

Manages departmental billings and related record keeping

  • Receives and submits deposits for all income.
  • Records all accounts receivable/payable.
  • Prepares invoices for Director to approve for payment.
  • Prepares billings for various programs as appropriate.

Assists in coordinating OMF programs, initiatives and special events

  • Assists in coordinating annually scheduled initiatives and programming.
  • Prepares end-of-event reporting including financial detail.
  • Evaluates events in line with the goals and vision of the office and Diocese.
  • Completes quarterly bulk mailings.

Assists in planning and implementing OMF vision

  • Assists Director with short and long-term planning and goal setting and vision for the Office of Marriage and Family, in line with the vision and mission of the Diocese.
  • Assists with the implementation of the vision and goals through events and through collaboration with other OMF and diocesan staff.

Other duties as assigned

  • Attend and participate in staff retreats and other staff activities.

Education: Two-year associate degree. Four-year bachelor’s degree preferred.

Job Related Experience: Three years administrative experience or related experience. Strong computer knowledge including web maintenance; familiar with general office management. Basic understanding of Catholic Church teaching required. Ability to recruit and work with volunteers. Experience in planning and presenting at retreat/encounter weekends is preferred. Comfortable with public speaking.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
