Full time salaried position, STARBASE Minnesota, Inc.
Overview: This full-time position combines the coordination of multiple STARBASE Minnesota, Inc. programs including leading the marketing and promotion of the STARBASE STEM kit initiative which hopes to reach 35,000 Minnesota students this year. Other areas of support will include program and organizational coordination, grant writing support and administrative duties.
Coordination and outreach of STEM Kit Initiative Develop and use marketing strategies, tools, messaging, and conduct outreach that results in STARBASE STEM kit curriculum implementation in school districts across the state of Minnesota utilizing a combination of suggested networks (per MDE and others), and developing connections and networks through various other means. Coordinate and manage the following: the sourcing and purchasing of supplies, materials for STEM kits; school communications and registrations; packing, shipping and distribution using an outside vendor; classroom teacher surveying and school data collection and reporting as required.
Coordinate and communicate with participating schools in regular, in-person STARBASE programs. Coordinate and communicate program information, schedules, partnership agreements, MOU's, and website links to participating schools; gather participant information; answer questions, conduct follow-up; trouble shoot solutions. Create and maintain sessions and classes in the database and on the website. Complete weekly class tasks including, submitting security info, checklist of class tasks, email pre/post test results to teachers and administrators, close out classes in database. Provide participation reports and data as requested.
Support program financial and inventory tasks. Solicit competitive bids, submit purchase orders and conduct follow-up of organization and program equipment, technologies, supplies, and materials. Manage inventory requirements per DoD and State of Minnesota. Reconcile credit card purchases and support check request process.
Coordinate STARBASE Next Generation Program. Develop, coordinate, communicate and process summer program registration and distribution of marketing materials with corporate partners, MN Guard and parents. Answer parent questions. Process donations; solicit matching contributions and associated communications; communicate donations with STARBASE accountant and director. Process and submit summer parent security information, including extra measures required by base security for non U.S. citizens. Aid in daily communications to parents and other program support, as needed, including assistance with military and volunteer engagement as needed, and the coordination of summer classroom volunteers.
Manage and process individual donations to STARBASE year-round, including managing giving platforms and acknowledgement letters. Coordinate annual MN Gives campaign and other fund-raising activities.
Provide grant writing support and submit grant applications on behalf of STARBASE Minnesota, Inc. Gather information, statistics, results and other information and input from Executive Director, St. Paul and Director, Duluth to respond to grant invitations and submit grant requests.

    Position to Start: September 2024

    Location: STARBASE Minnesota, Inc. is located at the 133rd Airlift Wing on the MN National Guard Base by the Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport. While many of the duties of this position are conducted at STARBASE during regular work hours, (7:30-4:00pm) there is potential for some remote work, depending upon need.
    Other information: STARBASE provides healthcare, dental, life insurance and disability benefits, along with paid holidays as follows: 2-week winter break; two-week August break; three days including Thanksgiving; Labor Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day and an additional 10 days (80 hours) paid time off.
    Qualifications:

    • Proven ability to lead, manage and coordinate projects with independence.
      Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills.
      Self-directed; ability to take initiative; results oriented. Needs limited supervision.
      Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to prioritize multiple assignments
      Creative problem solving essential.
      Excellent time management and organizational skills with ability to work under tight deadlines.
      Strong attention to detail.
      Ability to be an ambassador of the STARBASE programs benefits to educators and school leadership. (STARBASE programs are free to schools).
      Strong customer relations skills
      Advanced level skills with Microsoft applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
      Adobe Creative Suites skills and other publishing and/or video editing software a plus
      Previous grant writing experience a plus.
      Previous database application experience a plus.
      Ability to treat sensitive/confidential information with discretion.
      Flexible team player.
      Occasional lifting may be necessary.
