Position overview
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of Raw Seafood’s equipment and facilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform repair of Raw Seafood Inc.’s mechanical system as well as carry out regular inspection of building facilities to ensure they are operational and efficient.
- Participate in the hiring process along with employee evaluations.
- Oversee the delegation of tasks to maintenance personnel to ensure smooth business operations.
- Contract and supervise temporary or third-party personnel to ensure duties are effectively performed.
- Design and implement preventative maintenance programs which reduce the risk of equipment failure and maximize productivity.
- Identify new and advanced equipment that will serve as better alternatives for the replacement or upgrade of worn-out machines.
- Oversee the management of maintenance budget, expenses, and equipment depreciation.
- Manage the process of disposal of worn-out/damaged machinery as well as the installation of new equipment
- Keep accurate records of maintenance logs and provide reports on daily operations.
Working relations:
- Works closely with Senior Management, Quality Assurance, Production, Research & Development, Warehousing departments.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in management disciplines such as Business Management, Facility Management, or a related field. Or a combination of work experience and education which proves proficiency in the field.
- Intermediate computer skills, particularly with spreadsheets.
- Experience and understanding of food ingredients, allergens, nutritional labels and governmental regulations set forth by the USDC, USDA, FDA and BRC.
- Ability to conduct equipment inspections to identify and facilitate/conduct repair of machinery.
- Ability to identify machine faults or building hazards and initiate repairs and adjustment as needed.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish fact and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to make quick, educated decisions regarding product quality.
- Ability to lift 50-lbs. routinely.
- Ability to make decisions and work out problems in a short time frame.
- High attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, willingness to be flexible and ability to handle multiple situations simultaneously.
