The Treasury Management Officer will be responsible for marketing, selling and implementing commercial depository services, treasury management products to commercial prospects and customers as well as other bank customers and prospective customers in support of the overall goal of expanding the bank’s deposit base. This position assists in the installation and supports Treasury Management products, including but not limited to sales calls, demonstrations, product training/education, correspondence, and technical support for existing clients. The Treasury Management Officer will oversee the development of all related products and services to maintain or enhance competitive positions. The responsibilities include planning, directing, organizing, controlling and implementing the products and services commensurate with the objectives of the Commercial Lending Department. The Treasury Management Officer is also encouraged to collaborate with leadership within the commercial lending team to have exposure to professional centers of influence by analyzing borrowers' financial data to access credit worthiness and working in coordination with other departments including deposit operations to deliver the premier customer experience as it relates to treasury sales and service.

The incumbent must demonstrate understanding and aptitude in all aspects of business deposit services, including product knowledge, operational processes, and account analysis, cash management services, internet banking and alternative delivery channels used and promoted by the bank.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

The job's essential or most important functions and responsibilities. Included are all-important aspects of the job--whether performed daily, weekly, monthly, or annually and any that occur at irregular intervals.

  • Solicits, establishes and maintains new commercial banking relationships for the bank with a focus on treasury management products to develop core deposit growth
  • Prepare RFP’s for new and existing customers
  • Increases the bank's profitability by using a professional, consultative selling approach in expanding the use of Treasury Management services amongst Kleberg Bank’s business customers and prospects
  • Gathers data and other information needed to design specific programs and prepare written Treasury Management proposals for presentation to commercial customers
  • Acts as the primary liaison between customers and service departments of the Bank to support sales implementation and service issues
  • Regularly follows up with customers to ensure service quality and resolve service issues as they arise
  • Provides consultative Treasury Management expertise to the commercial lending team, current customers and prospects
  • Cross-sells treasury management products to existing customers within the bank’s markets; Collaborates with marketing on new products and product enhancements that address customer needs and provide opportunities to grow market share
  • Ensures credit review and risk rating practices are complete, accurate and ongoing
  • Follows-up on customer and commercial lender referrals to ensure the bank reaches its overall deposit goals
  • Maintains a business referral network.
  • Attains established individual, department and bank goals through active participation in sales management and call programs
  • Contributes to the Bank’s deposit growth strategies and income goals by generating additional revenues from the sale of Treasury Management products and services
  • Understands, offers and provides payment processing solutions to merchants or converts them from existing systems
  • Represents the bank in the community

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Minimum qualifications

  • A high school diploma is required
  • 5+ years of Commercial banking/lending experience and/or Portfolio Management with working knowledge of Treasury Management Services
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, high production environment
  • The ability to express complex technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Strong presentation, facilitation, and written/verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting or related field
  • Proven track record in treasury management product sales
  • 10+ years of banking with emphasis on commercial lending and depository accounts along with related treasury management products and services

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:


This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.


POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:


This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.


TRAVEL:


The employee is required to travel from time to time to customer sites.


ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS:


Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Ability to utilize job specific software and hardware components.
