The Courtesy Officer is responsible for providing security and customer service to residents, guests, and staff. This position ensures a safe environment by monitoring and securing the property, responding to incidents, and offering assistance as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Security and Monitoring:

    • Conduct regular patrols of the property, including buildings, grounds, and parking areas.
    • Monitor security cameras and alarm systems to detect and prevent unauthorized activities.
    • Enforce property rules and regulations to maintain order and safety.
    • Respond promptly to security calls and emergency situations.
  2. Customer Service:

    • Greet and assist residents, guests, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
    • Provide information and directions as needed.
    • Address resident complaints and concerns promptly and effectively.
    • Assist with lockouts and other resident-related issues.
  3. Incident Management:

    • Investigate and document incidents, accidents, and suspicious activities.
    • Coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency services when necessary.
    • Prepare and maintain accurate reports and records of security activities.
  4. Property Maintenance:

    • Identify and report maintenance issues to the appropriate department.
    • Assist with minor maintenance tasks as needed.
    • Ensure that common areas are clean, safe, and well-maintained.
  5. Administrative Duties:

    • Maintain a daily log of activities, incidents, and observations.
    • Manage access control systems, including issuing and deactivating access cards.
    • Participate in security training sessions and drills.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations.
  • Basic knowledge of security systems and emergency procedures.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to respond quickly to emergency situations.

Working Conditions:
