WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

The Client Relationship Manager is responsible for cultivating, maintaining and enhancing relationships with existing and new potential clients, ensuring client satisfaction, and reviewing the quality of the service delivery, as necessary. They will work closely with clients to understand their business needs and objectives, providing solutions that align with our services. They will also collaborate with the Business Development team and Line of Business team to execute the company’s business development plans to increase revenue and capture new opportunities for all service lines. This role involves a combination of strategic planning, client engagement and project coordination to ensure client satisfaction and achievement of the business objectives. In addition, it will also include overseeing TxDOT projects, assisting operationally with Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) and Right of Way (ROW) as needed.

Once selected to join our team, you will:

  • Build and nurture relationships with new and existing clients to ensure satisfactory growth. Collaborate with clients to gain insights into their needs, expectations, and project requirements.
  • Develop new business with new and existing clients, including those with TxDOT and franchise utility projects, to ensure client diversification.
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients, addressing any issues or concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Support TxDOT projects by coordinating project activities and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Assist or support operationally with Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) tasks, including coordinating utility locates and managing utility conflicts, as needed.
  • Support Right of Way (ROW) activities by assisting with negotiations, property acquisitions, and related project tasks, as needed.
  • Proposal Review – Collaborate with technical and marketing team to develop compelling proposals and presentations for prospective clients, including but not limited to TxDOT.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality services that meet client expectations, particularly in SUE, Survey, ROW and Civil PS&E projects.
  • Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling services to enhance client satisfaction and revenue growth.
  • Monitor and analyze client usage of our services, particularly in TxDOT and utility-related projects, to identify trends and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Conduct regular client reviews and reports to ensure client goals are being met and to identify any areas for improvement.
  • Stay abreast of industry changes and competitor offerings to ensure our services remain competitive.
  • Work in tandem with the marketing and business development department to strengthen Dunaway’s brand with TxDOT across the state and with your target client base, including but not limited to TxDOT.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as legal and regulatory requirements related to TxDOT and utility services.
  • Assist in company recruiting efforts by identifying and connecting the firm to potential candidates.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

SKILLS:

  • Understanding of multidiscipline engineering, architectural, and environmental concepts, and terminology
  • Knowledge of TxDOT project requirements and procedures
  • Ability to assist with SUE tasks and manage ROW activities effectively
  • Ability to create strategies, research for pursuing new clients and business partnerships
  • Excellent public speaking skills and comfortable at presenting to clients, local municipal representatives, and all levels of employees
  • Strong client relations/service skills with a passion for client satisfaction
  • Solid knowledge of functions and requirements with architecture/engineering /construction industry
  • Strong interpersonal and relational skills with all levels of employees and people
  • Strong drive for results; demonstrated success through prior experience
  • Ability to work with others on a team or independently as needed
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for client meetings and industry events
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret market data
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams

EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven experience in client relationship management or a similar role.
  • At least 10 years of experience working with or within the AEC industry.
  • At least 10 years of business development or associated experience, with demonstrated success in winning new business.
  • Experience with TxDOT projects and familiarity with SUE, Survey and ROW processes.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Marketing or Business Management.
