Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThe Director of Sales and Client Success is responsible for driving revenue growth, developing and executing sales strategies, and ensuring customer satisfaction and retention. This remote role requires a hands-on leader who can effectively manage both the sales and client success teams, fostering a collaborative environment to deliver exceptional results.Key Responsibilities
  1. Sales Strategy and Execution:
    1. Develop and implement a sales strategy that aligns with the company’s goals and market opportunities.
    2. Identify and target potential customers, managing the entire sales system from lead generation to closing deals.
    3. Monitor and adjust sales activities, ensuring consistent revenue growth.
    4. Manage the sales pipeline and forecast sales performance, adjusting strategies as needed.
  2. Client Success Management:
    1. Oversee the client success team to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
    2. Develop and implement strategies to engage existing customers, understanding their needs and ensuring the product meets their expectations.
    3. Act as an escalation point for customer issues, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
    4. Monitor customer health metrics and proactively address any risks to customer satisfaction or renewal.
  3. Team Leadership and Development:
    1. Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales and client success teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork.
    2. Provide training and support to team members, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to succeed.
    3. Encourage cross-functional collaboration to enhance customer experience and drive business growth.
  4. Collaboration with Product Team:
    1. Work closely with the product team to provide feedback from customers and market trends, helping to shape the product roadmap.
    2. Ensure that customer feedback is integrated into product development to continually improve the product offering.
  5. Market Analysis and Reporting:
    1. Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify new opportunities and potential risks.
    2. Prepare and present regular sales and client success reports to the CEO, providing insights and recommendations for growth.
    3. Collaborating closely with Marketing for new sales initiatives and needed case studies.
  6. Operational Efficiency:
    1. Implement and optimize sales and client success processes and tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
    2. Ensure HubSpot is up-to-date and being used effectively by both teams.
Qualifications
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. An MBA or relevant advanced degree is preferred.
  2. At least 5 years of experience in sales and/or client success, with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership role within a software or tech company.
  3. Proven track record of developing and executing successful sales and client success strategies in a small company environment.
  4. Strong understanding of the software industry and the ability to quickly learn new products and technologies.
  5. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  6. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage stakeholder relationships.
