ACCOUNTANT

Location: Westwood, MA

JOB DESCRIPTION

Technology firm is seeking a full-time experienced accountant to support the team with the company’s general accounting and reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of US GAAP and proficient computer skills including a thorough understanding of QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel. The successful candidate must be detail-oriented and analytical, have the ability to handle multiple tasks, set and meet deadlines, have strong verbal and written communication skills, and be a team player.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage full cycle accounts payable process including weekly budget for cash outflow projections.
  • Monitor accounts payable distribution email and respond to vendor inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Preparation and execution of bill payments weekly.
  • Preparation of 1099’s annually.
  • Assist with processing daily cash deposits into bank electronically, and record payment receipts into customers’ accounts through the accounting system.
  • Process bank and credit card transactional data downloads (including ACH payments) into accounting software.
  • Pick-up physical mail from PO Box routinely consists of standard letter sized envelopes.
  • Assist with other accounting department functions as needed. These could include new vendor set-up, credit applications, tax exemption certificate preparation, reconciliation of vendor statements.

Job Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting with strong complimentary experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and advanced analytical and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with QuickBooks and ideally, knowledge of Sage Intacct as the company is migrating to Sage Intacct shortly.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Exercises discretion and an ability to work independently.
  • Ability to juggle competing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to analyze workload and prioritize tasks and assignments according to importance.
  • Ability to quickly and effectively respond to email queries.
  • Candidate must be able to complete the duties and responsibilities of this job with reasonable accommodation.
  • Professional demeanor particularly with clients and vendors regarding billing, collections, and payment remittances.

Candidate must be able to successfully perform the necessary responsibilities and functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation. This position will reside at SNA headquarters in Westwood, MA.
