As the demand for our services increases and becomes more intricate, Catholic Charities is evolving to meet these challenges. We respond through three primary avenues: preventing poverty, addressing essential needs during crises, and facilitating pathways out of poverty.

COMPENSATION RANGE: $53,000-$62,000 annually

POSITION SUMMARY: Catholic Charities is in search of a proactive leader who is dedicated, resourceful, compassionate, trauma-informed, and culturally competent to take on the role of Program Manager I at the Dorothy Day Residence.

A Program Manager I is accountable for overseeing a specific program, engaging in fundraising and grant proposals, and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations. They will contribute to policy and procedural enhancements, policy execution, and the planning and development of both new and existing program services, along with budget formulation and oversight.

They are tasked with delivering client services that align with Catholic Charities standards, as well as legal and licensing requirements. Participation in conferences, training sessions, and the divisional and agency strategic planning process is expected, as directed by the immediate supervisor.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Guarantees that the program adheres to accreditation, licensing, and best practice standards.
  • Ensures compliance with data tracking and reporting requirements. Prepares reports and statistical data as needed.
  • In collaboration with HR, recruits, hires, mentors, evaluates, supervises, and, if necessary, terminates program staff members. Fosters a team of professional colleagues.
  • Works alongside the Volunteer Coordinator to facilitate the placement of volunteers and interns.
  • Responsible for reviewing and ensuring the relevance, accuracy, and timeliness of data and reporting for accountability and client outcomes.
  • Collaborates with the direct supervisor to establish and implement program vision and objectives.
  • Engages with the community through outreach and other methods to ensure program information is accessible and available.
  • Partners with the supervisor and Development staff to monitor and/or negotiate contracts and grants as necessary.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Two (2) years of relevant experience required.
  • Post-secondary education preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and proof of insurance coverage.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse and/or low-income populations, including individuals experiencing homelessness, unstable housing, and/or mental health challenges required.
