Job Summary

The Engineering Program Manager is responsible for delivering complex engineering projects and programs successfully. Serving as a liaison between engineering, operations, and business stakeholders, this role ensures that projects align with strategic objectives, meet technical requirements, and adhere to budget and timeline constraints. The Engineering Program Manager is tasked with overseeing project planning, resource allocation, risk mitigation, and status reporting to ensure execution excellence.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lifecycle Management: Manage the entire lifecycle of engineering programs, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Collaboration: Work with engineering, operations, and business leaders to understand requirements, align priorities, and define project scope.
  • Project Planning: Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, Gantt charts, dashboards, and other tracking tools.
  • Progress Monitoring: Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and implement mitigation strategies to keep initiatives on track.
  • Communication: Facilitate cross-functional meetings, communicate project status, and escalate blockers as needed.
  • Resource Management: Manage project resources, budgets, and vendor/contractor relationships.
  • Best Practices Implementation: Implement project management best practices, tools, and processes to drive consistency and efficiency.
  • Leadership and Mentorship: Provide leadership and mentorship to the engineering team on project management techniques.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in program management, engineering design, or project management.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing new product development programs from concept to production.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and coordinate cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in program management tools and software, such as Microsoft Project or equivalent.
