The Operations division of Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is thrilled to present an opportunity for a seasoned, hands-on leader to oversee the Global Supply Chain (GSC) organization at our Buffalo, NY facility. The chosen candidate will serve as the primary GSC liaison for the Buffalo site within the Navigation, Targeting, and Survivability Division, leading all local GSC personnel to ensure optimal program execution.

This leader will hold responsibility for the strategy, planning, and implementation of all material and service components for a program or a collection of programs. The selected individual will act as the main point of contact for the Program Management Office (PMO) concerning the entire supply chain, coordinating across functions to ensure that all supply chain commitments are fulfilled and that suitable mitigation strategies are developed and executed to address any programmatic risks associated with suppliers. This leader will formulate the material strategy and spearhead GSC activities throughout all phases of the Business Acquisition Process (BAP), ensuring that prior to program execution, all aspects of the proposed program(s) plans are equipped with comprehensive and precise schedules, budgets, make/buy plans, and procurement and subcontracting strategies.

The Supply Chain Programs Manager is accountable for activities and expertise across multiple disciplines within the supply chain processes: Supply Chain-Plan, Supply Chain-Source, Supply Chain-Make, Supply Chain-Deliver, and Supply Chain-Operations. This manager will demonstrate comprehensive supply chain competency and oversee supply chain functions (Planning, Sourcing, Small Business/Disadvantaged Programs, Supplier Quality, Warehouse & Transportation, Analytics, Compliance, Systems, etc.). Additionally, the successful candidate will guide the team to ensure adherence to established policies and procedures.

This is an onsite position located in Buffalo, NY

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience (or a Master's degree and 7+ years) in areas such as cost account management, supplier financial reporting/forecasting, and supplier/program/product scheduling or closely related fields.
  • 5+ years of experience in team leadership or management roles.
  • U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain government security clearance.
  • Familiarity with Federal and Defense contracting requirements, including ITAR and FAR/DFAR.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, organized, and detail-oriented.
  • Experience in dynamic program and supplier environments.
  • Ability to develop Supplier Management Strategies to meet program cost and schedule needs.
  • Proven leadership capabilities and the ability to influence direct reports.
  • Successful collaboration with peers, other functions, and all levels of management.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, commitment to fostering an engaging environment, and outstanding communication abilities.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 25% to support supplier management, strategy, and execution in line with program requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of prior experience in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business Management, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated success in problem-solving within supply chain, business management, operations, logistics, engineering, or program management.
  • Knowledge of managing large-scale programs with significant material content.
  • Prior leadership experience in team development or mentoring others in career advancement activities.
  • Familiarity with DCMA/MDA and effective interaction with these organizations.
  • Experience with SAP.
  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management Systems and requirements, supplier financial reporting/forecasting, contracting/subcontracting, or supplier/program/product scheduling.
  • Ability to effectively manage complex supplier specifications, drawings, SOWs, and supplier issue resolution.
  • Strong business acumen and capability to operate in a fast-paced environment involving leading-edge technology suppliers and non-traditional supply bases.
  • International Supply Chain experience.
  • Experience working with Supplier Performance management to create management plans and quality improvements through KPIs and Supplier interaction.
Salary Range: $149,400 - $224,000
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers various factors when determining base salary offers, including the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions and allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
