Salary: $120K + depending upon experience + incentive opportunity


Crossroads Professional Coaching is representing LEDC in seeking the next President and CEO to lead this regional non-profit in support of economic development for Livingston Parish, Louisiana

LEDC will help to develop strategies and incorporate incentive packages to promote the area’s positive business climate and attractive quality of life while encouraging existing business to expand to help create new jobs and long-term investment.


About the Role:


The President and CEO manages and leads this non-profit entity, ensuring that all operations run smoothly and efficiently to promote successful and sustained growth for Livingston Parish. The President/CEO is responsible for conducting the retention and recruiting function for the organization with an emphasis on attracting qualified businesses for location or relocation to Livingston Parish by assisting with local, federal and state incentives and other resources as they strategically relate to each prospective business. The LDEC President and CEO reports to the LDEC Board of Directors.


Primary Accountabilities:


  • Lead economic development projects that will create jobs and capital investment for Livingston Parish, to include business retention and expansion, business attraction and small and entrepreneurial business development
  • Financial management of the organization including budgeting, balance sheet management, profit & loss
  • Develop and maintain LEDC allies including regional economic development organizations, Louisiana Economic Development, School Board, Parish Council, Parish President, Sheriff, Mayors, State Representatives, State Senators, real estate brokers/developers, and power providers
  • Manage administrative staff
  • Manage and develop LEDC-owned land
  • Development of other private industrial sites
  • Establish and maintain relationships with site selectors and other business location specialists
  • Manage and raise funds for Livingston Tomorrow campaigns and programs
  • Recruit new LDEC members and maintain membership engagement
  • Develop workforce solutions; maintain existing relationships and establish new relationships that enhance workforce development
  • Promote Livingston Parish as a great place to have a business. Develop marketing material and promote Livingston Parish at trade shows and business functions
  • Develop and present annual report to membership
  • Public speaking



Qualifications:


  • 3 – 5 years of experience in economic and/or community development
  • College degree in business, economics, public administration, geography or a related field from an accredited college or university
  • Evidence of continuing education in economic and community development subject areas
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of public and private grant programs for economic development and experience in administering such grants
  • Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, GIS-based applications experience desirable
  • Knowledge of state and federal financial incentive programs available to business. Must have knowledge of local governmental operations and services available for business development
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with high level corporate and governmental officials and to maintain confidentiality
  • The successful candidate will be self-directed and have demonstrated experience in driving business initiatives through influence
