Job Overview

The Senior Automation Specialist plays a crucial role in the integration of advanced process equipment while ensuring the maintenance, troubleshooting, and enhancement of existing GMP and non-GMP control systems within a state-of-the-art Radioligand Therapies Production Facility.

At our facility, systems encompass plant-wide SCADA, third-party skid and stand-alone control systems, refrigeration units, air management systems, chillers, and Building Management Systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Offer technical expertise in the design, configuration, installation, and upkeep of automation software and related hardware, collaborating with various teams as needed.
  • Oversee or engage in all automation-related aspects of upcoming projects, including the integration of third-party equipment with the plant DCS and BMS systems, data aggregation, batch reporting, and data preservation.
  • Support continuous site operations post-startup on a 24/7 basis.
  • Draft scopes of work and guide automation contractors to ensure project timelines are met.
  • Establish project objectives aligned with user requirements and business strategies.
  • Identify equipment or system specifications and the most cost-effective technologies for implementation.
  • Engage in discussions with internal business partners regarding priorities and timelines, promoting transparent information sharing.
  • Create equipment specifications in standard documentation formats, including User Requirements (URS), Functional Specifications (FS), and Detailed Design Specifications (DDS/HDS/SDS).
  • Contribute to operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Resolve any technical issues affecting production efficiency.
  • Develop and revise procedures to enhance operational efficiency and ensure compliance.
  • Implement and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to align with established standards and policies.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Automation, Engineering, or a related discipline is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Automation or IT within a GMP pharmaceutical environment is essential.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of automation systems and IT infrastructure.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Preferred experience in aseptic environments.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven track record in managing budgets and project pipelines.
  • Familiarity with GMP regulations and compliance standards.
  • Able to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and key stakeholders.

Salary Range

$112,000 - $169,200.00
