An exciting opportunity to join the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, Human Resources Office
Under the general supervision of the Chief Human Resources Officer, assists with the planning, implementation, and management of strategic initiatives for human resources functions of recruitment and selection, compensation and classification, performance management, and employee relations. Implements, operationalizes, and monitors the use of approved policies and procedures and ensures strategy alignment. Audits budget for assigned HR accounts, approves expenditures, and supervises non-exempt human resources (HR) staff. This position will serve as Deputy Title IX Coordinator and HR shared governance liaison lead.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university required. A degree in human resources, organizational development, business management or a closely related field preferred.
- Five years’ work experience in Human Resources.
- Experience providing work direction to staff.
- Working knowledge of the principles and practices of human resources management and federal/state laws and regulations governing personnel activities (e.g. FMLA, FLSA, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, Title IX, EEOC Guidelines, etc,).
- Working knowledge of employment relations practices and methods, including complaint investigation techniques.
- Demonstrated experience with informal conflict resolution strategies, including coaching and counseling various levels of employees and managers on a wide variety of issues.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external contacts and foster teamwork.
- Ability to read, analyze and comprehend information and make effective decisions.
- Ability to communicate succinctly, organize information and develop presentations.
- Ability to perform with a high-level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality integral to human resources practices; use discretion in responding to confidential matters and high standards of ethics and fairness in the execution of position responsibilities.
- Computer skills with proficiency in MS office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), e-mail, Internet and experience using a Human Resources Information System (e.g. Workday, PeopleSoft).
VALUED BUT NOT REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Professional in Human Resources or SHRM certification.
- Experience in higher education and/or public service.
