Our team of over 500 professionals provides a wide array of services including prevention programs, foster care, residential treatment, adoption services, and support for individuals with developmental disabilities.

Position Summary:

The HR Generalist role is pivotal in aligning organizational goals with employee and management needs within designated program areas. This position acts as a strategic partner to management on various human resource matters, proactively assessing and addressing HR-related requirements. The HR Generalist is tasked with developing integrated solutions that provide value-added services to both management and staff, reflecting the organization’s objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Consult with management to provide HR insights and guidance.
  • Address and resolve employee relations challenges.
  • Stay informed on legal standards related to employee management, minimizing legal risks and ensuring compliance.
  • Offer daily performance management support to management, including coaching and disciplinary guidance.
  • Collaborate with management and staff to enhance workplace relationships, morale, and overall productivity.
  • Interpret and provide guidance on HR policies.
  • Assist the Director of HR with business unit restructuring and workforce planning.
  • Identify training needs for teams and individual coaching requirements.
  • Develop and deliver HR functional training programs.
  • Utilize the ADP system for personnel updates and HR reporting.
  • Support benefits administration and communicate benefits information effectively.
  • Work with program managers to oversee the leave management process.
  • Conduct sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding of new hires.
  • Travel may be necessary based on client requirements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of HR.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to engage effectively with all staff levels.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Capacity to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Understanding of industry regulations and compliance.
  • Proven skills in presentation and facilitation.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to handle sensitive employee information with discretion.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field.
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential is advantageous.
  • Experience in various HR disciplines including benefits, employee relations, and performance management.
  • Familiarity with working in a 24/7 environment and trauma-informed settings.
  • Experience in nonprofit organizations is preferred.
  • Demonstrated sensitivity and experience working with diverse populations, including individuals identifying as LGBTQIA* and those with disabilities.
