- Strategic Quality Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive quality strategy aligned with business objectives to enhance product quality and reliability.
- Quality Assurance Processes: Establish and maintain robust quality assurance processes, including supplier quality management, incoming inspections, in-process inspections, and final product inspections.
- Quality Metrics and Reporting: Define key quality metrics, monitor performance against targets, and provide regular reports to senior management on quality issues, trends, and improvement initiatives.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with R&D, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Customer Service teams to integrate quality into all aspects of product development and delivery.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive a culture of continuous improvement by implementing quality improvement initiatives, conducting root cause analyses, and leading corrective and preventive actions.
- Customer Satisfaction: Champion a customer-centric approach to quality by responding to customer feedback, managing complaints, and ensuring timely resolution of quality issues.
- Team Leadership and Development: Lead and mentor a team of quality professionals, providing guidance, training, and development opportunities to foster a high-performing quality organization.
The Director of Quality should have the following qualifications...
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience (8+ years) in quality management within the consumer goods industry, with a track record of successfully implementing quality initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 13485, etc.) and regulatory requirements relevant to consumer goods.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across functions and levels of the organization.
- Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis tools and methodologies.
- Certification as a Quality Engineer (CQE), Quality Auditor (CQA), or similar credentials preferred.
