Position Description:

We are seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance Specialist to oversee and coordinate quality control efforts for large multimillion-dollar transportation projects. This role involves substantial responsibility in ensuring that construction activities meet the highest quality standards as outlined in our ATLNext projects. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in civil engineering or a related field, combined with extensive experience in quality assurance and quality control management.

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.

Certification/Training:

  • Minimum of ten (10) years' experience as a QA/QC Manager or in a similar role, demonstrating a depth of knowledge in quality management processes.
  • NICET Certificates are considered a plus.

Experience:

  • Ten years of design experience in large, multimillion-dollar transportation projects.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing QA/QC efforts in a complex construction environment.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and oversee the quality assurance testing and surveying services provided during construction, closeout, and occupancy phases.
  • Review, comment on, and enforce the contractor’s Quality Control Plan to ensure all construction activities meet predefined quality standards.
  • Work collaboratively with Resident Engineers, Assistant Resident Engineers, Inspectors, and the Design Team to maintain quality across all project phases.
  • Utilize knowledge of safety plans, QA/QC plans, and project procedures manuals to guide project execution.
  • Prepare and present technical reports and correspondences that meet client and project requirements.
  • Participate in client presentations and maintain effective communication with all levels of the project team and stakeholders.

Reporting Structure:

  • Reports administratively to the Deputy Director – Construction Management Support Services (CMSS).
  • Operationally reports to the Area Construction Manager.
  • May supervise Lead Quality Assurance Managers and other QA/QC staff as required.
