Summary
The Production Manager will be responsible for managing, supervising, and coordinating the activities of all production employees assigned to a variety of activities and duties necessary to produce parts or products efficiently and cost-effectively that adhere to quality and customer delivery requirements with minimal supervision.
Key Activities
- Directly supervise the Production Supervisors.
- Establishes goals, objectives, and metrics for the Production Department based on Plant and Corporate initiatives and for the Quality Management System. Tracks and documents metrics and takes corrective actions when metrics are not to established targets.
- Maintain adequate staffing levels as business levels dictate.
- Manages the Production Department’s training system and ensures associates at all levels are adequately trained. Documents and tracks all training.
- Manages budgets assigned to the Production Department, identifies cost reduction initiatives, and implements them.
- Identifies, develops, recommends, and implements systems and methods to improve production methods, equipment performance, quality, and labor efficiency.
- Maintains the Production Department in a high level of organization using established methods.
- Ensures, enforces, and improves a safe working environment for all associates. Takes immediate action to any unsafe conditions.
Preferred Skills
- Familiar with these types of equipment Husky, Demag, Engel.
- Should have a technical background.
Educations & Experience
- Responsible for production across 4 shifts.
- Must have a good packaging background (injection molding).
