Job Summary

Loudoun County Fire and Rescue is seeking a dedicated IT Support Specialist to join our dynamic team. As an IT Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing essential technical support services to ensure smooth operations across our organization. This role reports directly to the Technology Manager and collaborates closely with the IT team and various County departments to deliver effective IT solutions across the organization.

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

Resolution of Helpdesk Tickets: Respond promptly to helpdesk tickets, troubleshooting and resolving technical issues in a timely manner.

In-Person User Assistance: Provide hands-on support to end-users, addressing technical concerns and offering guidance on IT-related matters.

User Onboarding and Offboarding: Assist in the setup and configuration of user accounts and devices for new employees. Manage the offboarding process to ensure secure data handling and equipment retrieval.

Application Support: Support and troubleshoot a variety of software applications used within the organization.

Hardware Support: Maintain and support PCs and iOS mobile devices, ensuring optimal performance and functionality.

Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of IT support activities, including documentation of solutions and procedures.

We are seeking an individual with:

Proven experience as an IT Support Specialist or similar role, preferably in a fast-paced environment.

Proficiency in troubleshooting software, hardware, and network issues.

Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Windows operating systems, and iOS platforms.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical users.

Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. 

Hiring salary commensurate with experience. 

Minimum Qualifications

Associate degree in a related field and three (3) years related work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid drivers license and good driving record required at time of hire (driving records may be reviewed annually for continued qualification).

Relevant certifications (, CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional) are preferred.
