Duties

The position is located in the Central Office of the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP), Human Resource Management Division (HRMD), Learning and Career Development Branch (LCDB). Serves as the Deputy Chief of the Learning and Career Development Branch. He/she provides policy guidance for Central Office, Regional Offices, and institutions throughout the Bureau of Prisons.

Responsible for managing and supervising the design, development, delivery, maintenance, and evaluation of curricula for training programs at the Management and Specialty Training Center, Aurora Colorado, and the Staff Training Academy, Glynco, Georgia as well as directing the Bureau’s Executive Development Program.

Provides technical assistance and policy guidance to regional and institution human resource staff in areas such as program development, training evaluation, and other areas that affect functional responsibilities.

Conducts research in corrections, law enforcement, public and private training, training literature (both academic and professional) and the business sector to find available curriculum and source material.
