Introduction

Job Summary

The Department of Mental Health, Substance Abuse and Developmental Services is seeking a dedicated, energetic, and established professional candidate to serve as Program Manager in the Support Coordination program, supporting individuals and families with developmental disabilities.

The Program Manager will co-manage a trusted and reputable team with a successful history of connecting individuals and their families with person-centered, recovery-oriented services and supports. The successful candidate will be a part of a diverse department that leads with integrity, dedication, and collaboration. The department supports individuals and families in the community to live their best lives while advocating for those most vulnerable and respecting their right to self-determination.

Responsibilities include: 

Coaching, mentoring and supervising.  Overseeing the programs daily operations, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and agency policies and procedures.  Providing support and consultation on complex cases.  Providing proactive leadership to foster staff morale and teamwork.  Conducting internal audits and compliance measures to monitor program and staff performance.  Building relationships and collaborations with a diverse network of community partners, including aging and disability network service providers, government agencies, healthcare and behavioral health systems, and housing providers.

Core service hours are 8:30-5:00 pm, with evening availability. 
Work is conducted in the office, community, homes, and provider locations. 
Teleworking privileges are available.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors degree in human services or related field. Four (4) years of related work experience and one (1) year of supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Masters degree in human service field preferred. Demonstrated knowledge and skills of Virginias developmental disabilities services and supports.  Ability to utilize electronic health records, Waiver Management System (WaMS), and other platforms to manage information and track program performance. Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, including experience serving as program spokesperson and team facilitator.

Job Contingencies and Special Requirements

Employment is contingent upon successfully passing pre-employment background check to include fingerprinting, credit, NCIC, DMV and TB test. Must have a good driving record and a valid driver's license in Virginia or regional state of residence.

Must be able to wear County-issued N-95 mask and other personal protective equipment (PPE) such as face shield, mask, apron, gown, gloves, etc. Able to provide direction remotely using technology devices.
