In addition to cardiac care, UF Health Leesburg Hospital provides cutting-edge orthopedic surgery, stroke management, emergency services, and comprehensive labor and delivery care.

As part of UF Health Central Florida, a not-for-profit healthcare system, we are the largest and most comprehensive provider of health services in the region.

UF Health Central Florida offers a range of inpatient acute hospital services at UF Health Leesburg Hospital and UF Health Spanish Plaines Hospital, along with rehabilitation services at UF Health Rehab Hospital The Villages and diagnostic laboratory services across multiple locations.

Responsibilities:
The Clinical Sepsis Program Coordinator is responsible for the comprehensive coordination of activities associated with the identification and management of sepsis.

This role ensures that all patients receive timely and thorough treatment interventions that align with established clinical practice guidelines.

The Coordinator collaborates with healthcare team members to facilitate the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of care delivery for affected patient populations.

Additionally, the Coordinator provides both formal and informal education to team members and the community.

Acting as a resource for team members, medical staff, and the community, the Coordinator works closely with local EMS to ensure optimal continuity of care.

Collaboration with nursing and medical staff leadership, as well as the Education Department, is essential to support the implementation of appropriate research projects.

Participation in hospital teams and committees is expected, along with presenting lectures, in-services, and conferences while maintaining and enhancing current knowledge and competency in the specialty area.

Other duties may be assigned as necessary. This position reports to the Division Manager, Clinical Excellence, Quality Outcomes.


Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, or to be obtained within two years of hire/transfer into the position.
  • Florida Registered Nurse License is required.

Experience Required:

  • Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English is essential.
  • Clinical nursing experience with program patients is necessary.
  • Preferred experience includes Education, Quality, Disease Management Accreditation, or management roles.
  • 3-5 years of clinical service line experience in at least one specialty area is preferred.
