The Strategic Medicaid Proposal Writer will play a critical role in the quality of our RFP responses, amendments to expand scopes of work, and the efficiency of our sales team. The proposal writer will continuously strive to increase their knowledge of GHSC, services offered, and industry best practices to develop thoughtful, strategic, compliant responses to RFPs/RFIs/RFQs. The proposal writer will develop strong work relationships with GHSC's client managers, proposal peers, solution consultants, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to support our business goals to win, expand and retain business.

We will count on you to:

  • Work on writing assignments varying in length and detail supporting topics across the entire proposal and amendments to expand scopes of work in current client contracts
  • Collaborate with business and client leaders, proposal peers, and subject matter experts to outline and prepare final proposal responses, as well as amendments to current contracts to provide additional scopes of work
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative research to help formulate new content focused on client solutions that highlight company differentiation, innovation, and strategies
  • Actively participate in kick-off meetings and strategic planning meetings through the entire proposal process as defined by the proposal timelines
  • Develop a proposal response that aligns with internal quality standards, bid guidance and adheres to proposal requirements in a compliant and compelling manner
  • Develop a proposal response with consistent brand, style, tone and commonly used industry and client terms

What you need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Five plus years of experience as a proposal writer
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and keen attention to detail

Marsh McLennan is committed to hybrid work, which includes the flexibility of working remotely and the collaboration, connections and professional development benefits of working together in the office. All Marsh McLennan colleagues are expected to be in their local office or working onsite with clients at least three days per week. Office-based teams will identify at least one "anchor day" per week on which their full team will be together in person.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $104,400 to $208,800.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
