Remote, Oregon, United States Lykos Therapeutics Full time

About Lykos Therapeutics

At Lykos Therapeutics, we are committed to making an impact on people's lives. We envision a world where there are more tools available for the treatment of mental health and where conversations about mental health are destigmatized. We aspire to challenge the status quo through the development of novel therapies and therapeutic approaches to treat mental health conditions. Our initial focus is developing investigational MDMA-assisted therapy for adults living with PTSD. If approved by the FDA, MDMA-assisted therapy could be a potential new approach to treating PTSD, a condition that hasn't had a new treatment option in decades.

MDMA-assisted therapy has been designated a Breakthrough Therapy by the FDA and the results of our two pivotal Phase 3 clinical trials were published in Nature Medicine. MDMA-assisted therapy has not been approved by any regulatory agency. The safety and efficacy of MDMA-assisted therapy have not been established for the treatment of PTSD.

Lykos is a public benefit corporation (PBC), with a dual mandate to generate shareholder value and public benefit. As a PBC, we consider the impact of our decisions on society just as we think about financial implications. We balance the interests of our many stakeholders including our employees, healthcare providers, therapists, investors and others. This means that we look through a public benefit lens with all that we do.

Why work for Lykos Therapeutics?

With 30+ years of experience researching psychedelic-assisted therapies, we remain committed to the rigorous pursuit of evidence-based development of novel approaches. We value impact, integrity, care, and openness and hold public benefit at the center of everything we do. We believe in diversity and inclusion of people of all backgrounds, genders, races, ethnicities, sexual orientations, educational backgrounds, arrest or conviction record, military and veteran status, religions, abilities, and perspectives and are committed to building a supportive, equitable, and accessible workplace.

Lykos has a distributed workforce that uses technology and periodic in-person gatherings to stay connected. We look for people who believe in our mission, are comfortable with and skilled at remote work and collaboration, and ready to step into a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.

Position Summary

Reporting to the VP of Market Access, The National Account Executive at Lykos Therapeutics will play a pivotal role in national and regional payer coverage, including health insurers, pharmacy benefits managers, and government agencies like the VA and State Medicaid Agencies. They will proactively influence decision makers, policies, and guidelines to ensure timely access to Lykos Therapeutics therapies for patients across various payer systems. Th NAE will maintain and enhance relationships with key entities affecting coverage and reimbursement decisions, aligning strategic plans with the company's objectives. This involves presenting scientific data and disease awareness information in compliance with regulations, serving as the primary contact for Lykos Therapeutics Key Account Managers, and collaborating cross-functionally to overcome barriers to care.

Responsibilities

  • Engage national and regional payers (health insurers, pharmacy benefits managers, behavioral/mental health benefits managers, the Veteran's Healthcare Administration and Veterans Integrated Service Networks, and State Medicaid Agencies) to positively influence decision makers, policies, guidelines, and processes to facilitate timely access to FDA-approved Lykos Therapeutics therapies for patients covered by commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, the VA, and other public and private payers.
  • Maintain, broaden, and deepen relationships on behalf of Lykos Therapeutics with target entities (e.g., payers, pharmacy, and medical/behavioral/mental health benefits managers) that affect coverage and reimbursement decisions.
  • Develop and maintain strategic and account level plans aligned with Lykos' goal and objectives.
  • Present scientific data and disease awareness and economic burden information in compliance with pre-approval information exchange (PIE) guidelines prior to product approval to payers and population health decision makers.
  • Present on-label product prescribing information, product safety and risk evaluation and mitigation strategy (REMS) requirements, payer value proposition and pricing, and product distribution and patient support services information to payers and population health decision makers in compliance with post-approval product promotional laws, policies, and guidelines.
  • Serve as the primary point-of-contact with Lykos Therapeutics Key Account Managers (KAMs) assigned to the network of Lykos-trained sites of care (SOC) in the assigned region for all market access-related issues, creating confidence in the access pathway for patients and coordinating and aggregating information for and aligning the Lykos market access engagement strategy.
  • Develop and maintain core relationships with the business functions at SOC in coordination with KAMs.
  • Work cross-functionally, especially with the KAMs, to pull through plans to mitigate and/or remove barriers to care at the consult and treatment phases of the patient journey for medication and/or therapy/counseling.
  • Work compliantly with Medical Affairs/Medical Information to ensure payer and population health decision-maker requests for scientific data are addressed.
  • Share insights and feedback from across market access stakeholders (with a focus on payers and financial decision makers at SOC).
  • Maintain the utmost standards of professionalism and compliance in all internal and external engagements.

Qualifications

  • Deep knowledge of U.S. markets and understanding of health insurers, pharmacy benefits managers, behavioral/mental health benefits managers, the Veteran's Healthcare Administration and Veterans Integrated Service Networks, and State Medicaid Agencies.
