Work at a Glance : Guiding Ethics, Inspiring Compliance, Empowering Trust.

  • Advises in the administration and implementation of the Ethics and Compliance Program and advises the Ethics Officer on improvements to the administration and implementation of the Program.
  • Design and manage the Corporation's Compliance Program, which seeks systematically to promote and advise on strategies for full compliance with corporate policies, and applicable laws and regulations. The Compliance Program will mitigate risks consistent with industry best practices, including by completion of an annual assessment to identify top risks and appropriate compliance action, refinement of a compliance framework, development of policies and procedures to mitigate risks and support excellence.
  • Manage the operations required for compliance with the Whistleblower Policy, including but not limited to: review of incoming complaints, completion of investigations, referral of certain matters for investigation by third parties, implementation of corrective actions, maintenance of records, and regular reporting to the Audit Committee.
  • Be responsible for the conduct of investigations – including receipt and intake of complaints, creation of investigation plan, completion of investigation tasks, making findings of the investigation, recommending action(s), documentation of all steps taken, and reporting outcome of the investigation to the Ethics Officer and others where appropriate.

Technology: Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access) required.

  3. Hybrid : This role reports into the office 2 days per week.

Office of General Counsel's Purpose

The Office of the General Counsel & Corporate Secretary serves as an executive office and is primarily responsible for providing legal counsel and strategic guidance to the Officers, Board of Directors, and all program divisions.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • A J.D. from an accredited law school, and member in good standing of a state bar, and either a member of the Washington, DC bar or able to join the Washington, DC bar within one year of hire.
  • 15+ years of relevant work experience in the practice of law with 7+ years of relevant work experience as an in-house ethics counsel, compliance official with investigations experience or similar position.
