Responsibilities:
  • Perform safe and efficient large-scale formulations and analysis of Thermo Fisher Scientific products
  • Clean, assemble, and disassemble equipment to maintain a safe and clean working environment
  • Collaborate with senior personnel to develop and optimize processes, ensuring production goals are met
  • Assist in other departments such as Quality Control and Packaging when needed
  • Maintain accurate process documentation in the form of batch record sheets, reports, and lab notebooks
  • Follow strict safety guidelines and adhere to ISO production environment requirements
A day in the Life:
  • Focus on manufacturing large-scale formulations of Thermo Fisher Scientific products in laboratory and clean room environments using 50, 100, and 500 liter tanks
  • Implement production procedures according to established protocols under the guidance of senior personnel
  • Perform in-process analysis of formulations using common methods such as pH and UV/VIS
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts in production and testing methods
  • Participate in cross-functional project teams focused on initiatives like PPI, 5S, Lean, and new product introductions
  • Take on additional projects and duties as assigned
Keys to Success:
  • Education: B.S./B.A. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Biological Sciences, or equivalent experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry acquired over 5+ years in lieu of a high school diploma.
  • Experience: Detailed understanding of chemistry and general laboratory practices, either at an undergraduate level or equivalent experience. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and strive for personal and professional growth. Willingness to accept constructive feedback and actively seek improvement opportunities. Physical ability to lift 50-60 lbs, handle large-scale equipment, and manipulate moderately heavy equipment.
  • Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Familiarity with handling hazardous waste and compliance with environmental regulations. Willingness to undergo initial hazardous waste training and annual refresher training.
