As the Facility Operations Specialist, you will:
Oversees the planning, organizing, staffing, directing and controlling of all activities within the Building Operations Department.

These include planning for the future, developing, interpreting and maintaining written policies, procedures, processes, and preventive maintenance for all operating equipment.

The incumbent manages departmental projects from inception, through market research and development, to execution and completion.

The incumbent is responsible for overseeing the utilization of manpower including carefully controlling the use of overtime across 3 shifts spanning 24 hours a day.

The incumbent assists the AFM-Operation Department Head with the planning, scheduling, inspecting and coordinating of facilities management renovation projects including reviewing construction drawings and specifications for compliance with the Gallery's standards and mechanical and electrical codes.

The incumbent also works closely with the Procurement Office to develop statements of work and helps negotiate contractual agreements for the department.

The incumbent is responsible for helping the AFM-Operations Department Head in the development and management of the department's annual operating budget.

The incumbent undertakes the full spectrum of supervisory responsibilities, including but not limited to: Plans work to be accomplished; sets and adjusts priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work; assigns work based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty, requirements of assignments, and capabilities of employees; develops performance standards; evaluates work performance of subordinates; gives advice, coaching, counsel and/or instructions to employees on both work and administrative matters; interviews candidates for positions.
