Applicants with outstanding accomplishments in translational research focusing on global health are invited to apply for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine (PLM) at Brown University.

PLM seeks to build upon its strengths in research focusing on addressing the intolerable burden caused by pathogens of global significance. Brown University and PLM have a long history of Global Health research and PLM is a founding department for the Center for International Health Research (CIHR) whose core faculty conduct interdisciplinary research focusing on malaria, schistosomiasis, and TB.

The successful applicant will have a strong track record of research applicable to interdicting global health pathogens as well as strong commitment to teaching, mentoring, and advising students. Applicants must have an M.D., PhD or M.D./Ph.D. degree (or equivalent) and postdoctoral research experience.

The appointee will participate in undergraduate, graduate and/or medical school teaching and mentoring. Applicants with funded programs or strong evidence of funding potential will be given the highest priority with special consideration for applicants whose research skills enhance or complement other initiatives within PLM such as cancer biology and/or toxicology.

Opportunities for collaborative, interdisciplinary research and participation as a mentor on an NIAID T32 "Pathogens of Significance in Low/Middle Income Countries", the Pathobiology Graduate Program, and the Therapeutic Sciences Graduate Program are also available.

Interested candidates can apply online at and the following documents should be uploaded: curriculum vitae, names of three references, and a statement of research plans, career objectives, and teaching philosophy.
