About the Role

In this pivotal role, the Compliance Analyst for Research Integrity will report to the Assistant Director of Conflict of Interest and Research Integrity. This position plays a crucial role in the management of our Conflict of Interest (COI) program. Responsibilities include facilitating annual and ad hoc faculty COI reporting and disclosures, reviewing cases of potential conflicts of interest and commitment, supporting the Conflict of Interest Review Board (COIRB), documenting meeting minutes, and implementing and monitoring conflict management strategies. The Compliance Analyst must possess a thorough understanding of relevant COI regulations and policies, applying them effectively to various cases. Staying updated on evolving regulations is essential, as is assisting the Assistant Director in developing new policies and educational materials related to conflict of interest.

The Compliance Analyst will provide guidance to faculty and researchers on proposed external activities and their implications for University COI policies. This role also involves delivering presentations on COI regulations to faculty, researchers, students, and staff, as well as presenting COI cases to the faculty committee. Additionally, the Analyst will collaborate with other University offices to address non-research related conflicts and support the Research Integrity program by assisting in Research Misconduct proceedings.

Qualifications

Education and Experience
  • A Bachelor's degree is required (advanced degree preferred) along with 3-5 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in an academic environment is essential.

  • Technical Skills: A solid understanding of Conflict of Interest regulations and policies.
  • Proven ability to draft clear, concise, and detailed communications and policies.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, particularly in conveying complex regulatory requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize competing demands and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a high level of accuracy in data entry and written communications.
  • The Compliance Analyst must demonstrate the ability to collaborate effectively across various organizational levels while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Familiarity with specialized software (e.g., InfoEd, Huron) is preferred, or the ability to learn quickly.
  • Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment.
