About the Opportunity

The Research Development Manager is a key member of the Office of Research Strategy and Development (ORSD) at Brown University. The ORSD is responsible for catalyzing creative scholarship by empowering individuals and teams to lead strategic research endeavors with global impact.

The Research Development Manager will support the research goals of faculty in the physical sciences and the School of Engineering at Brown University. Key responsibilities include:

  • Establishing collaborative relationships with faculty who are eligible to submit federal funding proposals
  • Providing research development support for proposals in assigned areas
  • Assisting in the writing of the non-technical components of proposals
  • Developing broader impacts and outreach components for proposals
  • Overseeing the dissemination of funding opportunities to Brown faculty
  • Supporting the Senior Director in building new and strengthening ongoing relationships with mission-driven funding agencies

The ideal candidate will have a graduate degree in a STEM field and at least 3+ years of related experience in a university or research institute. Strong organizational and customer service skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with a team are essential.
