TPS/RLM Lean Specialist

JOB SUMMARY:

This individual will serve as part of the Lean Management team for Werres, part of Toyota Industries Corporation, performing RLM, ASEC, and TPS implementation, in support of the company's continuous improvement initiatives and business objectives. This position will define, lead, and implement continuous improvement projects and/or coach our business leaders in identifying and executing continuous improvement initiatives. Additionally, this resource will provide educational lectures, workshops, seminars, coaching, and mentoring to grow the RLM capabilities of our associates and deliver bottom line results to the business. In the future this resource will go to our customers and implement RLM/TPS projects.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • A passion for continuous improvement through Raymond Lean Management (TPS)
  • The ability to grow the continuous improvement culture throughout all levels of the organization
  • Continuous fostering and improving company personnel in RLM/TPS capabilities
  • Work will consist of both routine and somewhat more difficult assignments, which require independent evaluation, original thinking, or ingenuity
  • The ability to break down organizational barriers and work with cross-functional teams
  • The ability to identify problems which can be addressed through the implementation of RLM tools and implement the tools demonstrating quantifiable positive impact to the business KPIs (SQCDEM)
  • Partners with customers across the enterprise in the applications of RLM
  • Tools used will include A3s, material and information flow charts, standardized work charts, standardized work combination tables, line balancing charts, 5s, lead-time maps, FTA, PDCA cycle.
  • Champions safety as an integral part of everyone's job and holds self and employees accountable to highest standard of safe conduct

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous practical experience with lean, TPS, six sigma (black belt), 5S, Standardization, Kaizen, JIT, Jidoka, and Visual Management (will train the right candidate)
  • Knowledge of the material handling business
  • Training/Teaching/Coaching and Presenting experience
  • Team building experience
  • Project management experience/PMP Certification a plus

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher education preferred in Engineering, lean management, or applicable field or 3+ years of experience
  • 3+ years of Practical Work Experience related to Continuous Improvement or Formal Toyota Production System / Lean management training

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills coupled with professional presentation skills
  • Solid organizational and time management skills
  • Self-directive, disciplined, persistent, and with a strong work ethic
  • Persuasive leadership skills
  • Patient and open minded
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
