Education and Experience Requirements A High School Diploma or GED is mandatory. An FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificate along with 2 years of aviation maintenance experience or 4 years of aviation maintenance experience, including 2 years on mid/large size aircraft, is required. A valid Driver's License is essential. Position Objective: With minimal oversight, conducts inspections, maintenance, and repairs of moderate to advanced complexity on aircraft systems and structures. Job Responsibilities Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Essential Functions:- Communicate effectively to receive and comprehend work assignments. Execute intricate aircraft inspections, repairs, and modifications with limited supervision.
- Collaborate with MTL, STM, and the Inspection Department to ensure adherence to internal and FAA inspection and documentation standards. Accurately complete CMP cards, work order sign-offs, and other necessary paperwork promptly.
- Guarantee that all completed work meets quality benchmarks and specifications.
- Correctly identify (tag) customer property and equipment. Securely and safely store aircraft components and other customer assets.
- Adhere to standard operating procedures when utilizing ground support equipment (external power carts, hydraulic mules, hydraulic lift platforms, tow tugs, forklifts, compressed gas cylinders, etc.).
- Coordinate, execute, and assist with aircraft movements in hangar and ramp areas.
- Provide mentorship to less experienced technicians.
- Safeguard customer property (PTP).
- Appropriately collect and dispose of waste fuel, oil, hydraulic fluids, de-icing fluids, and solvent rags. Implement 6S and Lean Initiatives to maintain cleanliness and organization in shops, hangars, and aircraft workspaces.
- Apply Lean/continuous improvement methodologies to all areas of responsibility.
- Properly utilize and maintain Company-provided tools and equipment. Return items to designated storage areas after use.
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures. Utilize protective equipment as necessary and remain vigilant for unsafe conditions. Address unsafe conditions proactively.
- Utilize the material tracking system to generate parts demand, monitor squawks, and sign-offs, and charge labor to rectify work orders.
- In support of aircraft certification and final phase testing, may include flight tests on aircraft as required.
- Familiarity with FAA regulations, process specifications, Repair Station and Quality Control manuals, and company policies and procedures.
