Job Summary

Plan, revise and define CO2 storage sites, hubs (from study phase through project development and technical definition), fully dedicated to outline Carbon storage capabilities in different geographies to secure CEMEX needs for carbon storage up to 2050.

Job Responsibilities
  • Sourcing latest Carbon Storage technologies while understanding trends in the marketplace.
  • Develop new business models for storage, creating opportunities and maintaining existing relationships.
  • Lead and provide visibility for carbon storage capabilities in different geographies.
  • Conceptualize, propose, and support execution of carbon storage projects across CEMEX sites / facilities.
  • Preparation of monthly reports to monitor progress and highlight future opportunities.
  • Find the right storage partners and technology for the different geographies where Cemex Operates.
  • Define steps to be taken towards large-scale carbon storage.
  • Assess the conditions of each Cemex site to determine if CO2 storage is feasible.
Qualifications
  • Degree in geology, or related field
  • +5 years in the carbon storage industry or related
  • +3 years of experience with direct exposure to carbon storage projects

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of PC programs: Word, Excel, Access
  • Advanced English language skills
  • Deep knowledge and experience working in carbon storage related industries, especially with contacts within industrial gas companies, oil & gas companies,
  • Technical background and competency to understand the technological environment
  • Demonstrated build-up/project management skills
  • Solid technical understanding and capability to articulate carbon storage market to non-experts

Working Conditions
  • Continuous exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, extreme noise, and working outdoors.
  • Must wear protective equipment while at the location.

Physical Requirements
  • Requires stationary position, traverse, move, transport, and the ability to significant degree to operate, activate, use, prepare, inspect, place, detect, or position.
  • Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate to employees/visitors as well as function safely around heavy rolling equipment.
  • Must be able to perform all job functions which include, but may not be limited to, pushing, turning, and/or pulling of controls.
