Job Description

Synectics for Management Decisions (SMDI) is looking for an AWS Engineer to join their team. They are seeking a qualified individual to work on the Datawarehouse and Business Intelligence services (DWBI) project for a federal agency in Alexandria, VA.

The AWS Engineer will be responsible for developing and supporting cloud-based solutions, including migration from on-premise to cloud environment and optimization. Collaboration and teamwork are key to ensuring project success.

Responsibilities/Duties
  • Advise software engineering team on migrating to cloud infrastructure
  • Optimize cloud workloads for various aspects
  • Provide support for production, staging, and deployment environments
  • Collaborate with teams to plan architecture and solutions
  • Utilize expertise in AWS services and scripting
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of AWS Services and experience with implementing workloads
  • Experience building infrastructure in AWS using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills
  • Strategic thinking and proactive approach
  • 3+ years in IT, 1+ year in AWS migration, Architect, DevOps, or administration
  • Experience with cloud automation and scripting
  • AWS Certifications are beneficial
