Key Responsibilities- Design and develop data engineering solutions using Python, including data acquisition, data processing, and data storage.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business requirements and develop data engineering solutions that meet those needs.
- Develop and maintain data pipelines, including ETL processes, data transformations, and data quality checks.
- Work with data scientists and analysts to develop and deploy data products and services.
- Develop and maintain data governance policies and procedures to ensure data quality and security.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in data engineering and apply that knowledge to improve our data engineering solutions.
- 5+ years of experience with Python, including developing, running, and testing Python scripts.
- 5+ years of experience with the entire ETL pipeline, including data acquisition, data prep, and database architecture.
- 1+ year of experience with Kafka or NiFi development.
- Experience creating software for retrieving, parsing, and processing structured and unstructured data.
- Experience creating solutions within a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
- Ability to develop assorted scripts and programs for converting various types of data into usable formats and support project team to scale, monitor, and operate data platforms.
- Secret clearance.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Experience with a public cloud, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Experience with data engineering projects supporting data science and AI and ML implementations.
- Experience with containerization tools, including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with distributed data and computing tools, including Spark, Databricks, Hadoop, Hive, or AWS EMR.
- Experience working on real-time data and streaming applications.
- Experience with NoSQL implementation using MongoDB or Cassandra.
- Experience with data warehousing, including AWS Redshift, MySQL, or Snowflake.
- Experience with UNIX and Linux, including basic commands and Shell scripting.
- Experience with Agile engineering practices.
